This past month Pixe Social has had the pleasure working with RealPage at the 2015 RealWorld User Conference. Attendees at the event had the opportunity to choose from two exciting options:

1. RealPage branded photos that utilized users Photomonials

2. RealPage Green Screen with Dr. Seuss characters

Both activation's were a big hit that enabled user creativity and produced high engagement numbers on Social Media. The posts reached 13,165 fans on Facebook and engaged an impressive 12,658 people!

Leah Lashley from RealPage shared her appreciation with us:
“PixeSocial added a fun, interactive element to our user conference. We had long lines for our company-branded PixeSocial photo booth during our peak customer event, which helped double social engagement for our brand among users who have been historically late to the social media game”.

World of Concrete 2015 Sees Impressive Attendee Engagement with Powerful Social Media Marketing Solution

Last month, the number one international show for the commercial concrete and masonry construction industry, World of Concrete, drew over 55,000 industry professionals to explore the halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center and visit more than 1,400 exhibitors.

In order to create a more interactive experience for Show attendees, World of Concrete (WOC) provided a social photo sharing solution, powered by Pixe Social. Attendees at the event were thrilled to pose with their friends and colleagues for the official photos and share photomonials expressing their excitement about the Show. The photos were shared in real-time to the WOC Facebook Page and emailed to the users so they could share it on their own social pages.

Exhibitors also participated in the photo sharing fun with Pixe Social's roaming social team. Team members captured exhibitors, big and small, showcasing their newest products and services and inviting Show attendees to visit their booth. Pixe Social leveraged the #WOC2015 hashtag on Twitter to connect with exhibitors and engaged with them in their booths on the exhibit floor.

The WOC attendees and exhibitors snapped a total of 1,342 photos over the course of the four-day show. Backed by the social-sharing power of Pixe Social, the WOC Pixe Social photos reached 88,462 fans online, resulting in a total of 107,594 Impressions. IMEX Engages Event Attendees and Online Fans through Innovative Social Technology, Powered by Pixe Social

IMEX Frankfurt and America are the leading international exhibitions for the incentive travel, meetings and events industry. The annual conferences attract thousands of global industry influencers because of the cutting-edge technology and innovative resources. For the spring 2014 Show in Frankfurt, Germany, IMEX set out to discover a unique way to create viral buzz around their already popular event.

As Senior Online Community Manager of IMEX Group, Miguel Neves looked to Pixe Social to join the IMEX Social Team at IMEX Frankfurt and America 2014, to leverage the social sharing power of Pixe Social’s tablet-based software, Pixe Encore. Neves wanted to produce a more visual view of IMEX America that included more entertainment and wasn’t so business-formal.

The partnering Social Teams reported live from the show floor, promoting what each individual booth was exhibiting or demonstrating for attendees. By creating a custom @IMEXSocialTeam Twitter profile, online fans could view a live feed from the show floor and feel as if they were experiencing the show themselves. The 268 photos shared by the Social Teams at IMEX Frankfurt extended the event’s reach to 22,980 online fans, generating 50,753 unique impressions on Facebook. The IMEX Facebook Page also saw a substantial jump in its viral outreach reaching 99,282 fans that left 309,989 unique impressions.

With the success of the social campaigns at both 2014 IMEX events, Pixe Social reached out to IMEX and told them we were interested in using the same social team idea when we attend the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 2015. We plan to deploy three teams of two correspondents each to report the ins and outs of the conference and to engage with people who could not attend the show in person via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram by providing insider knowledge of the most exciting attractions at each exhibitor booth.

We invite you to follow the social teams’ live coverage of the Show and to learn more about our activities at #CES2015 by visiting here.

The Impact of Social Media on Small Businesses

Last week, Pixe Social's Director of Sales, Michael Krantz, recounted his adventures in cosplay at New York Comic Con (NYCC). Michael had the opportunity to partner with a talented special effects makeup artist, Lindsey Ann, of Symphony Blush. The experiences had by both Michael and Lindsey's experiences are a reflection on  how beneficial social media promotion and engagement can be for small businesses.

These days, social media isn’t just for social interactions at a personal level. While posting pictures of your family and friends and rekindling friendships from high school may have been the original plan for networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, businesses big and small, have finally figured out how to connect with previously unattainable audiences and potential customers online.

Sharing her thoughts on social media, Lindsey-shared explained how it allows her to make people aware of what is happening in her world of photo shoots, films, and special events. Leveraging Facebook, Twitter, and especially Instagram, Lindsey welcomes fans to contribute to as well as share her entertaining experiences. “Once Instagram was created, it was easy. Just one click of a button and I can share a picture that other people were able to see, making it much easier to view my work. Social media allowed me to make people aware of any events that I was attending, like New York Comic Con, so they can be a part of it,”, says Lindsey.

Symphony Blush Instagram

While at NYCC, Michael used Pixe Social’s free consumer app, Pixe Snap, to expand the reach for both Symphony Blush and Pixe Social. By using the hashtags #NYCCPixeSnap, #SymphonyBlush and #NYCC on all of his posts to Twitter and Instagram, Michael started to contribute to one of the top trending topics of the weekend. “Recognition is the only way an artist can make a living. An artist's work has to speak for itself. If ‘Symphony Blush’ could trend [on social media], then others can see my brand,” notes Lindsey. Now, when Instagram users search the #NYCC hashtag, the #Symphony Blush” hashtag will be included in some of the posts instantaneously reaching a wider audience.

Five Creative Ways to “Socialize” Your Events

Guest blog post by Michelle Bruno, Bruno Group Signature Events

The ground rules of most gatherings have changed. Because of the increasingly mobile and social world in which we live, guests desire and even expect to share their live experiences with online friends. Here are five ways that event organizers can facilitate a fun and social experience for their participants.

Social Photo Booth. The 2014 Reunion of University of Notre Dame Alumni was a prime example of what’s possible when you put former classmates who haven’t seen each other in years in front of a social photo booth with Kelly green wigs and foam numbers (for the years they graduated). Guests at this year’s event “seized the day” with the digital photos created and posted online by the Pixe Social Photo Booth app.

Trivia Contest. Notre Dame’s reunion team deployed another secret social weapon to broadcast their guests’ antics online. The school hired a comedian to capture alumni responses to the first-ever Notre Dame Trivia Contest on video. Top performers vied for tickets to the Notre Dame/Stanford football game this fall and the video footage was edited and placed on YouTube where it has received over 2,400 views.

Social Media for Good. The recent #ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in which individuals shared videos of themselves dumping buckets of ice water over their heads to raise awareness about the life-altering disease demonstrates how well social good and social media go together. Live gatherings are perfect opportunities to enlist participants in activities that bond them together in thought-provoking ways that they can also share online.

Selfie Scavenger Hunt. A scavenger hunt is an excellent way to promote team building and bring out the competitive spirit. And, when it involves social media, the whole world can follow along. Organizers of the Notre Dame Alumni reunion instructed their guests to look for specific campus landmarks—using vague photos as clues—and take selfies at the locations. The first persons to arrive and tweet their photos out on Twitter received prizes.

Social Vending Machines. Most people know how to use a “regular” vending machine: users put coins in the slot, push some buttons, and grab what comes out. But, some companies have added a social media component to the exercise. Rather than putting money into the machine, participants post to Twitter or Facebook to trigger a response. Social vending machines transform even mundane tasks into exciting social experiences.

With some creativity, almost any experience can be socialized. What have you done to give your guests their allotted fifteen minutes of fame online?

Social Engagement at IMEX America 2014

This fall, the IMEX Group will host its fourth annual IMEX America show in Las Vegas, NV. For the second time, IMEX plans to use the social photo booth, powered by Pixe, which generated a lot of interest and success at IMEX Frankfurt. Pixe’s social photo booth solution allows the official IMEX Social Team to capture pictures of attendees and directly upload them to Facebook and Twitter live from the event.

IMEX America, the largest Hosted Buyer Program in North America, draws thousands of attendees each year. A Hosted Buyer Program allows international buyers to meet with exhibitors and sellers in one-on-one appointments. Let’s face it; large-scale tradeshows can be overwhelming even for seasoned attendees. But this program gives both buyers and exhibitors the opportunity to focus on exactly what their brand needs and wants to gain from the show.

Pixe will also showcase its solutions to buyers interested in growing their event’s social engagement. Our solution gives events the unique opportunity to reach 4-5 times as many social fans as they would with traditional marketing.

Similar to our presentation at IMEX Frankfurt where we captured 268 photos, Pixe plans to gain even more on and off site fan engagement. The photos uploaded directly from the show floor created 50,753 Facebook Impressions and reached almost 30,000 social fans. With Pixe’s unique ‘photomonial’ ability, show attendees expressed their interest and appreciation for all of the opportunities they were exposed to during the show. The infographic below displays the expansive reach of the Pixe Social marketing solution at IMEX Frankfurt.

Increasing the Social Reach of the Brasil Game Show

This fall, Pixe will host an interactive photo sharing experience for the attendees of the Brasil Game Show (BGS). For seven years, the BGS has hosted thousands of gaming and electronics enthusiasts at the biggest electronics show in Latin America.

Over 180 video game developers, producers, and distributors gather in the Expo Centre Norte in San Paulo, Brazil to release the newest game additions. With this exclusive opportunity to preview games before their official release date, BGS organizers expect more than 250,000 visitors for this year’s event.

Pixe will provide BGS attendees with a social gamification activity through our popular photo booth technology, Pixe Social. Complete with the logos of BGS and one of their notable sponsors, this innovative solution integrates on-site fan engagement through fun photos with an extended viral reach on leading social
media sites.

Pixe Social operators will encourage fans at Entrance Lines, VIP and Media Centers, during sponsored evening events to snap a photo with friends to post in real-time on the Brasil Game Show Facebook Page and Twitter Feed. Gaming fans will also have the chance to see their photos on the Pixe Photo Wall, a large,
HD screen with a scrolling slideshow. Pixe encourages BGS attendees to share their photos with friends and family on their own social profiles to show off their exciting time at the event.

SXSW Interactive Opens PanelPicker Voting Late Summer 2014

This past week, Pixe entered the PanelPicker for the SXSW Interactive Festival Sessions.

The 22nd Annual SXSW Interactive Festival will be held on March 13 – March 17, 2015 in Austin, TX. Known in the SXSW community as an “incubator of cutting edge technologies and digital creativity,: this festival combines technology, entrepreneurship, networking, and social programs. Compared to the smaller SXSW V2V that Pixe attended in mid-July, Interactive attracts over 30,000 attendees and industry-influencers.

Pixe’s discussion will focus on solving the challenges brands face in using social media to reach their potential customers. Technology consumers are recording their favorite television shows and fast-forwarding through any commercials, so how can brands reach their fans in this non-traditional atmosphere? Nowadays, individuals feel strongly against having any advertisements or pop-ups interfering with their down-time spent on Facebook or Twitter. Brands want to create a meaningful connection with their potential customers without appearing as overbearing or obnoxious. Pixe will discuss the ways brands can seamlessly integrate their marketing efforts within their fans’ social networks.

We invite you to take part in voting for us to present during the SXSW Interactive Sessions. Starting on August 11, 2014 and ending September 5, 2014, SXSW opens voting on Interactive Sessions to the public community. All you have to do to vote is create an account with the PanelPicker. To keep our fans informed, we will actively post updates and commentary about our session during the voting period.

Impressive Online Engagement for CeX Pixe Photo Booth

While hosting the 2013 MCM London Comic Con Pixe Photo Booth, the Pixe team met representatives of CeX , the popular chain of stores for an expansive range of technology and entertainment products. Recognizing Pixe’s unique ability to reach out to event attendees by providing a fun, social experience, CeX contracted Pixe to provide a mobile-photo booth to its long-term customers and fans at the 2014 MCM London Comic Con.

CeX turned out to be an exciting and great brand to work with. The Cex team fully embraced the concept of real-time social selfies by placing an enormous Cex-branded octopus throne at their booth entrance, and giving away CeX cash vouchers as prizes in crowd-drawing contests.  Alongside Pixe’s social media promotion of the contest, CeX lit up the social media scene by live-tweeting photo booth pictures and reminding visitors of the contest over three days at the event. We were impressed by how responsive CeX was to their online fans. There were threads of conversations about booth location, popular photos, and contest announcements both on Twitter and Facebook.

Post by CeX.

This inspiring effort from CeX to provide a memorable experience to their customers was amply reflected in the impressive post-event ROI report generated by Pixe. In fact, the CeX ROI report blew us away! Not only did the individual Pixe photo booth photos bring thousands of online fans to the CeX Facebook Page, but CeX also boosted their online presence through constant and attentive interaction with fans.
  • Captured 839 photos
  • Reached 910,291 Facebook fans
  • Generated 1,230,179 online impressions
Take a look at the remarkable results from the CeX @ MCM London Comic Con Photo Booth below.

NRA Show 2014 Wrap Up

There I was, fresh off a plane, in an unfamiliar city, and entering the nation’s largest convention space, McCormick Place, measuring an impressive combined total of 2.6 million square feet of exhibit space. Welcome to a Five Star event, I said to myself, I hope you’re ready! Having already attended a couple of smaller events with the Pixe team, I was really looking forward to the 2014 National Restaurant Association Show and it more than lived up to my expectations.

When the show opened, the Grand Concourse photo booth attracted people like magnets as they entered the main halls staged with seven feet tall NRA and Pixe branded backdrops, several prop trees decorated with boas, hats, and aprons, and selfie-stands placed in the front. Over the next four days, the NRA Pixe photo booth clicked an impressive 2100 photos from excited attendees.

The first day concluded with team dinner at Giordano’s that allowed us to rest our aching feet, discuss the highlights of the day, and plan for day two. Over delicious Chicago-style pizza, we learned about an exciting partnership opportunity SpellBrite Signs, who provided trendy LED signs with the words “NRA 2014,” “Spicy” and “I’m Gluten Free” for users to wear while taking pictures. It’s always gratifying to work with other exhibitors to spread the love at face to face events.

Surrounded by power brands such as Samsung, OpenTable, and Groupon, Pixe was able to stand out in booth 6679 not only with our fashionable red carpet, but also with our live photo walls displaying a slideshow of all the photo booth shots. Thousands of attendees made their way to our booth to check out Pixe for their brands, and of course to get their hands on the “coolest giveaway of the show,” our ubiquitous blinky glasses. We showcased both Pixe Social, the leading tablet-based social photo booth solution, and our newest offering, Pixe Snap. The latter is a user-managed app that enables individuals to find their beloved brands by geo-locations and express their emotional connections with them.

All in all, the NRA Show turned out to be an amazing experience, giving me a new perspective on how much work goes into tradeshows. Although there may not have been blood, sweat, and tears, a lot of preparation before, during, and after the show was contributed by the Pixe team. As for my number one piece of advice for the next show? Comfortable shoes!

Breaking Down Digital Media Acronyms Part 2

Since the start of the Internet, companies have been discovering new ways to build their brand and reach out to new customers. This platform has spurred the start of Digital Marketing. Digital Marketing is the process of using digital formats to advertise a message for a brand. In order to understand this new industry a little better, take a look at some of the most commonly used terms and phrases.

Content Marketing: Content Marketing is a brand’s process of producing original, valuable, and thought-provoking content and sharing that content with interested consumers. For instance, trade magazine, company blogs, and even many brand social media sites aim to share interesting articles, trends, and new products that relate to their specific industry. Here is a short history of content marketing from the Content Marketing Institute.

Social Media: Social Media is a combination of the websites, and now applications, used for social networking. Social networking is creating relationships, either personal or professional, through a login-based social media website. The most popular social media sites include, but are not limited, to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Google+.

Organic Marketing: Organic Marketing is the process of marketing a brand or product without paying for advertising. It is important to note that organic marketing does contain intent, but it is a more unexpected option.Organic marketing is focused on creating a natural relationship with your potential customers, especially through word-of-mouth and social media outlets.
Responsive Design: Responsive Design is probably one of the hottest trends in marketing now, responsive web design is a website’s ability to react to the user’s screen size. Web designers are now standardizing flexible content on the sites that can automatically adjust to whatever type of device is used. Along with changed appearances, responsive websites will transform the user experience to work with a device, such as the finger zoom feature on iPads, a drop down “hamburger” menu for mobile, and landscape/portrait views on tablets.

Tribal Marketing:Tribal Marketing is a marketing strategy to create a community-centered feeling for those interested in a certain product or brand. Marketers attempt to target certain individuals that all have a common interest or need and solve that need with the use of their product. In essence, marketers want to encourage a bonded tribe in support of their product or services
